Which software package is best for your business?

I am a fan of Quickbooks versus Peachtree for a number of reasons.

The first is that I have used Quickbooks for 20 years (yes, I was just about the first one to buy the first edition!!) and I have grown with them and evolved over the years into the system it is at the moment.  Which does not mean that it doesn't have it's faults, but it is the one that I prefer.

I have also worked on Peachtree, and find it more difficult to move around in, for the following reasons.

Setting up a company is easier in Quickbooks

Setting up accounts is easier in Quickbooks

Entering data in Quickbooks is more intuitive, you can work with either account numbers of account names.  I prefer working with names, because when you start typing it intuitively inserts a list of names to pick from.  Peachtree you have to remember each client number (very difficult) and you don't have the ability of changing it to an alphabetic list.

Both programs have good reporting functions, and both export to spreadsheets and e-mail.

Quickbooks has the ability to enter US and FedEx shipments from the invoice, where Peachtree does not.
If you don't have your own accounts with these couriers, this is a great service.

Costwise, both are in the same price bracket.

My pick - definitely Quickbooks.
Go to Quickbooks for full information.

I am currently using Peachtree and I have no problem of it. I chose this software because it has more advanced features than Quickbooks. Because it is built in with accounting principles.
